Here are some frequently asked
questions regarding the LJI Gold Crown teams:
Q: When does the season start and what is its
duration?
A: Practices typically start after the middle
school season ends. Games begin the
first weekend in January and continue through the first weekend or two in
March.
Q: When and where are practices held?
A: Practices are typically held at Loveland High
from
Q: When and how many games will be played?
A: Gold Crown games are played mostly on
Sundays, but some are played on Saturdays.
Two games are scheduled for the same day, either back-to-back or with a
game rest in between. The exception is
Super Bowl weekend, where only one game per team will be scheduled.
Q: How much travel is involved with Gold Crown?
A: The LJI Gold Crown teams play most games
within northern
Q: What is the cost to play on an LJI Gold Crown
team and what does that include?
A: There is no cost for tryouts. League fees for the season are $200, but
scholarships may be available if there is financial need. These fees pay for the Gold Crown league
fees, jerseys, equipment and gym time.
Q: What other parental involvement is required
within the LJI Gold Crown teams?
A: There will be a parent seminar sponsored by
Gold Crown that is mandatory for at least one parent per team, but recommended
to all parents. For each game, a parent
scorekeeper or clock operator is necessary.
Finally, most coaches welcome parents to come assist them with
practices.
Q: Are the coaches paid or volunteers?
A: All of the coaches and administration within
the LJI program are volunteers. All
money collected is used as described above.
